On March 27, 2007, Northern Virginia District PTA held their Reflections ceremony at Yorktown High School in Arlington. The event was well attended and many proud children and their parents were on hand to receive their awards.

 

Children who were recognized for their outstanding work are listed below.

 

At the ceremony, it was also announced that 17 children from Fairfax District received awards at the State level.

 

three students earned National PTA Awards of Merit for their Reflections entries.  They had earned Outstanding Interpretation from our District level and the State (VA) level, and now National awards!" Congratulations to Gracie Terzian (Oakton High School), Kate Hao (Oak Hill ES) and Kyle Gatesman (Canterbury Woods ES)!

Appreciation and Thanks

 

I begin by thanking our county council and city chairs.  They are Cindy Leitner from Arlington County, Elizabeth Peppe, Kathy McCleary and Jennifer Cipriano from Falls Church City, Tracy Wilkerson from Alexandria City, and Raine Bradley from Fairfax County Council.

 

Special thanks to the Northern Virginia District Reflections Committee - Tere Arnsmeyer, Rob Horvath, Lisa Lombardozzi, and Lisa Moore, and Patricia Franck, Virginia PTA Arts in Education Chair, for their help, enthusiasm and guidance, as well as judges, local chairs, students and parents.
