NOVA District PTA held September 26 Webinar on 2019 Virginia PTA Proposed Legislation Program (PLP)

The NOVA District PTA held a recorded webinar on Wednesday, September 26 to discuss the Virginia PTA’s 2019 proposed legislation program (PLP). The PLP would become the foundation for Virginia PTA’s advocacy efforts at the General Assembly in Richmond as well as throughout the Commonwealth. PTA REMINDERS & UPCOMING EVENTS:

Now until October 14, 2018: The PTA Connected with Facebook Grant will provide 200 local PTAs in all 54 state congresses with $1000 to support their PTA in hosting a Digital Families Community Event from January 1 – May 1, 2019.  The program for this event will empower families to have honest conversations about digital literacy, safety, and citizenship.

Now until October 14, 2018: The 2018 PTA Connected with LifeLock Grant will award $1,000 to 25 PTAs across the country to host a SmartTalk Conversation at their school, in celebration of Safer Internet Day during the week of Feb. 5, 2019. The program for this event introduces families to The Smart Talk, a tool they can use to have honest conversations about digital wellbeing and device usage while creating a personalized family contract.

Now until October 21, 2018: The 2018 National PTA littleBits Invention Night Kits opportunity is available to local PTAs interested in hosting an Invention Night as a way to reinvent education through hands-on engagement and play for children and families. There will be 20 local PTA winners who will receive Invention Night kits for their schools. The application is open until October 21, 2018.

Now until October 21, 2018: Enter the 2018 National PTA ThinkFun Game Night GIVEAWAY to win a bundle of games that help families learn through play! 50 local PTAs will receive 50 games each to host thing engaging, learning-filled night. The application is open until October 21, 2018.

Now until January 31, 2019Local leaders to register with the National PTA for the 2018-2019 Reflections Program.

National PTA provides grants and awards throughout the school year. Check them out and apply to win!
