Serving Alexandria City, Arlington County, Fairfax City,
Fairfax County and Falls Church City PTAs and PTSAs
PTA is an organization of members and its success depends a set of rules and obligations that outlines and provides for mutual cooperation and benefit for this membership. These laws are our bylaws and they govern our organization and keep it structured.
Bylaws should be current, clear in content, and accurately represent the way a local unit conducts the business of the association. Bylaws must also be revised every 5 years. Northern Virginia District PTA Bylaws are due for revision this year.
In accordance with VAPTA and National PTA procedures, Northern Virginia District PTA formed a Bylaws committee to review and revise our current Bylaws. The committee's recommendations were presented to the District Board on March 15, 2007 and a motion was made and passed that they presented to the general membership for approval at the next general meeting on April 24, 2007.
Northern Virginia District Bylaws have been approved by Virginia PTA Bylaws Committee and now comply with the current language and requirements of the Virginia PTA Bylaws and District Bylaws template. The District Bylaws are in effect until August 30, 2012.
We encourage you to download and read the approved Northern Virginia District Bylaws.
