The Washington Nationals baseball team is hosting virtual baseball-themed STEM lessons adapted from lesson plans within the Washington Nationals’ Grand Slam Schools program. They are designed for grades 1-6. Each lesson has a downloadable PDF and corresponding video tutorial led by our Nationals Public Address Announcer, Jerome Hruska, who is also a high school engineering teacher. So step up to the plate and enjoy learning how baseball, math, science, and engineering are all connected!

NOVA Systemic

NOVA Systemic is a Northern Virginia Community College’s STEM outreach program. It is passionate about developing a pipeline of student-centered activities from elementary school to career, building the STEM workforce of the future in the process. It is excited to announce that it is hosting a series of Virtual STEM Camps available starting at $98 per camp for the entire household.

Our Virtual STEM Camps will provide opportunities for students to explore STEM and the engineering design process from home. The curriculum includes some hands-on projects coding with micro:bit and scratch, VEX robotics, fabrication and cybersecurity tools. Camps are offered for elementary (rising 3rd grade) to high school (rising seniors) students in daily 1-2 hour online sessions throughout the summer. With fewer contact hours the cost to participants will be reduced and we will host camps per household instead of per student making them more affordable for the entire family.
